Musical Director and Concert Band Conductor

The position of Musical Director (MD) is currently held by Mr Peter Blyth, recently from Ryde in NSW, where he had been the MD for the Ryde Concert Band for nine years.

The MD is responsible for taking weekly rehearsals for the band on Monday evenings at the Band Rehearsal Hall, at 3 Daniel Street, Nambour. He is also responsible for choosing and purchase of music, selecting music to play, and conducting at events throughout the year. In collaboration with the committee, he is also responsible for assessing new members who wish to join the Band.
